Bits and Bytes

Tables Turned

Clinic starts at 9am
And what is this we find
Patients are all waiting
But of nurses, not a sign!

Consultants sit behind their desks,
They squirm and foam and moan,
If we don’t find those nurses soon
We’ll send the patients home!

What shall we tell the patients?
There’s sure to be a riot
We’ll send them off to x-ray
That will keep them quiet!

The registrar is shaking
He knows not what to say
As he must face the patients
To tell of this delay!

The grumbling and the groaning
Fills the Consultants ears
The Registrar is full of woe
The SHO`s in tears.

Nurses arrive at 10am
Completely unaware,
Of all the anxious people
Just waiting for their care.

Sorry that we’re late folks,
Sorry for the delay,
Had to take the dog for walks,
And bills we had to pay.

Never mind we’ll soon catch up
You do not have to worry
We will work throughout our lunch
But you will have to hurry
As theatre starts at 2pm
So hurry!, hurry!!, hurry!!!.
