Diverse
topics are discussed in this first issue of year 2005. This is because there
are several facets to sexual health. Although diagnosing, treating and controlling
the spread of reproductive tract infections is very important, non-infective
issues are not less important. The British government has realised the importance
of sexual health and is willing to invested large sums of money to decrease
the burden of sexual ill health among her population.
The knowledge and practice of female undergraduates in Ogun state Nigeria with regards to emergency contraception is detailed by Oladapo et al. There is room for improvement in sex education in secondary and tertiary educational institutions. HIV/AIDS continue to cause morbidities and mortalities. Richard Bellamy describes his findings in Singapore. Erectile dysfunction has various causes and needs better understanding by the patient, his partner, his general practitioner and the hospital consultant. Roger Fisken discusses this problem in his article. Likewise, Sally Waite et al., highlight the dilemma of managing the preterm breech.
Finally, the board of the journal welcomes Colin Cooling and Claire Blood, as our new graphic/technical editors.
